 The Registration

Ian had help from some of his students. The library was arranged well enough so that registration could be organized. Summer classes was always the deserted registration, but Ian and colleague Tania Montgomery was hoping this year would not. As a matter of fact, they pretty much hope for the same thing every year. It's not that kids nowadays hate to study, it's just that they have better things to do, or at least they think they have better things to do.

So, here comes Ian's idea of drawing the kids back to school. Every year the number of people watching the Fight Box grows larger and larger. It seems that it's the only thing that interests the kids lately. And if it takes the Fight Box to attract the kids, it's worth the risk. The principal and Ian had rows about opening it over the summer, but Ian still had his father's blood running through his veins. The man can still be pretty convincing.

Tania walked into the room and looked around. The registration boards were all spread out, simply waiting for students to sign up...if there were any willing to do so, that is. The decorations around the library was pretty much attractive. There was a big sign in the middle that says that the Fight Box would be open two times a week. This was the first year that they were going to do that. It was a test run to see if it would actually attract students to come to school over the summer.

Tania looked at Ian who just nodded. All they could do now was wait.

Geoff walks into the large room, helmet in one hand and takes in his surroundings. Taking a moment at each of the boards, he walks about the library with an overwhelmed look on his face.

Seeing Ian and Tania standing together, a smile crosses his face as he approaches them.

"Hey I was wondering if you could help me. I'm new around here, and my grandmother said I needed to come here to sign up for classes? I'm Geoff by the way."

Ian turned to the young man, a fine one at that. He gave him a bright smile. It took him a couple of seconds to process the fact that this kid was new and that it was one of the best impressions that the school could place on him...now that the excitement of learning...well, much accordin to Ian...will begin.

"Welcome to Bradewall Academy, son!" Ian greeted brightly with a rather satisfied grin on his face. "Of course." The man motioned to the table in the center. "Pick your class and you can pick your schedule too...right over there."
