Bradewall City
Centuries ago, there were two species that collided with each other, the humans and the Special Beings. When the Special Beings showed some unexplained powers that are quite rare and frightening for the humans, the humans drove all the Special Beings out of their lands.
Gradually, the Special Beings' bloodline faded. Many of them died trying to find a place to live. They were nearing extinction when finally a civilian stepped up to their rescue.
Evan Brade was a bright young man, a fresh grad of MIT. He had a Special Being save his life once when he was a child and he had never forgotten about it. When Brade found out about the Special Beings, he knew there was something he had to do. Having lived in Boston for most of his life, he found some connections and managed to convince some property owners to sell him some lands. After buying said properties, Brade built tall and thick walls around it to protect the Special Beings behind the wall.
And thus they named the place Bradewall City.
Since then, the Special Beings lived there, but it was not always peaceful even amongst themselves. There were family secrets that were kept...pride that was not allowed to be let go. Not everyone was pleased that a civilian handed them a land on a silver platter and made it out to be something without return. Some were skeptical...some were satisfied. Many things occurred in Bradewall City throughout the years that were best kept silent.
The Glares were one of the most prominent family during the time Bradewall was building from ground up. They were the family who ran one of the most important stores in the place, the equipment shop. Their knowledge about making the perfect protective gears was a family secret and was passed down from father to son for many generations. People would notice that there were more to the Glares than what meets the eye though, but those few who knew what it was could never seem to speak about it.
The Carters control the biggest bank in the city. The family is one of the richest in the city. Many would day that they launder money every now and then and that it wasn't the most trusted bank there was in the area, but this theory was never proven because the Carters were the only ones who could afford the finest lawyers at time time.
And then there was the Kings. They were always the one who was against everything and anything the government of Bradewall would do or say. For many generations, they were the ones who fought against the rules. The Kings were the alleged terrorists of the area, but not one of them has talked so far, even if they were caught and punished for it.
There were many more rumors going about the place, but there was none yet that were proven to be true. The secrets were still locked within the families...even by the time more and more people came to populate the place.
Several decades after Evan Brade passed away, the wall was torn down. Some open-minded civilians started to move in and join the Special Beings community. Not too long afterwards, an academy in the memory of Evan Brade was built: Bradewall Academy. Here, regardless of whether one was a civilian or a Special Being, the school welcomes them with open arms.
Bradewall City community is currently composed of both civilians and Special Beings. Not all Special Beings stay good as they were taught to be, Some Special Beings hold onto secrets long before they were born...revealing their dark side as time progressed. To add to this, not all civilians are helpless...some of them are great heroes. Everyone just has to find the answers within.
They always say the next generation is the land's bright future. Would this be true for Bradewall City? It's not always easy to live in a place of mixed races and kinds of people, but it's a city where there is the dawn of a new hope.
