Brianna laughed. "Well, apparently you don't go out with girls much if that's the way how you think of us," she said, working out that Charlie seemingly hadn't dated by the looks of it. You're missing out half of your life, kid. was all Brianna was thinking as he looked at Charlie, but of course she wasn't going to voice that out.
Brianna shrugged. "Who knows. That sister of mine is way over her head," she said. "You're a really nice brother, you know. I wish my sister would think the same way as you do."

"If I even get close to a girl, Jessica seems to be there. That's why she needs a boyfriend. So I can actually get myself a girlfriend. I'm a bit of a dating virgin," Charlie said, shrugging.
"Maybe I should meet your sister and convince her that she should not be playing sports on a hot day," Charlie suggested, leaning against the wall in the pool. "Thanks for the compliment. I try my best." He winked at her.

Brianna laughed. "Big sis breathing down your neck, huh?" she said, She didn't know the feeling, but she had fun doing it to her own little sister, which she could feel guilty about right about now, but she didn't. It was Bea's fault for being born second anyway. Breathing down a younger sibling's neck is something she lived for.
Brianna kicked at the water. "Good luck with that. When Bea sets her mind to something, it's kinda hard to pry her off of it. But yeah, definitely. You surely should meet Bea..but I think you already have by now since you both go to the same school and are in the same level as far as I know."

"Yes, pretty much. She's cool though. She's all I've got. So I put up with it. I just need a little space sometimes," Charlie replied, running his hand through the water. "She's just being protective. Over-protective, but protective."
"I'm pretty persuasive though. You'd be surprised. I can pretty much convince anyone to do anything I want. Such as Jessica. She doesn't play games, yet I convinced her to go to the arcade with me," Charlie said, then paused. "Bea... Yeah, I might have passed her by once or twice. Not actually had a conversation. Might have said 'hi' once or twice."

Brianna laughed. "At least you have someone watching your back when you need to," she replied. There were times when she wished she was a younger sister to Bea. Bea doesn't know it...maybe...but Brianna always watches over her, making sure she doesn't get hurt in any way as long as she can. But she also gives Bea a lot of space to learn things her own way, only stepping in when needed.
With a snort, Brianna replied. "Try doing that to my younger sister. Even my own mother gave up feeding her vegetables by the time Bea was three, and my mother is a lawyer."

"Yeah, she saved my life when I was seven. So, I really do love her. She's just a little too close to my sometimes. I don't need her around always, especially when I'm trying to get a girlfriend," Charlie said, remembering many of the times Jessica had done that.
"Well, I'll have a chat with her. Maybe we'll find something we have in common. Older sisters might be one thing," Charlie said, splashing Brianna.

Brianna smiled. "I guess you and your sister are that closes, huh?" she said. She and Bea were once that close too, but they grew up...but still Brianna knows that they'd go back to the way they were once they're out of puberty. That's what their dad says anyway.
Brianna laughed as she wiped the water off from her face. "You might have a lot in common. You like sports?" she asked. It was the one thing Bea loved, aside from eating.

"We are that close, yes. She's my mother, my sister and my friend all in one. She's the only family I have, so we have to be close. If we fell out, I'd have no one left," Charlie said, smiling sadly.
"Yeah, sports are ok. I play football with King's kid sometimes outside. I like pretty much every sport," Charlie said, shrugging. "I also love swimming."

Brianna gave the water one kick before turning to Charlie. "Where are your parents?" she asked. If there was something in Charlie's smile, it was as if he was recalling something he didn't even want to remember...or even know about maybe. Brianna could see the sad look in his eye. "You don't have to talk about it if you uncomfortable though," she said. It's what her dad tells them when they have a problem.
Brianna's ears perked up the moment he heard the word King. "King, as in Randy King?" she asked.

"They passed away, when I was born. Don't know what happened, no longer care. That's in the past. Jessica, she still wants to know, but I don't. I no longer care. I did, but, there's no point now. It's not going to bring them back," Charlie said, shrugging.
"Yeah, Randy. Me and my sister, we work for them. Stay with them. They're cool," Charlie said, looking at her. "Why?"
