If there was one thing that Brinna loved about summer apart from school being out, it was the cool water to top off her day. Yes, there was nothing like a dip in the pool to take her away from the scorching heat of the sun, which she didn't mind if she wanted to have a tan every now and then.
The young girl took two quick and deep breaths before stretching her arms and diving into the rather cool water. She felt it all over her body, and she couldn't feel even more relax than when she was under it.
Brianna's head finally bobbed up from the water after a few seconds of staying under it. Then she began swimming to the other end of the pool.

Charlie ran up to the entrance to the swimming pool. He sighed contentedly, looking at the water. He loved swimming just as much as Jessica did, yet he preferred to be in the water, rather than sitting beside it.
He walked over to the bench and placed his t-shirt and assortment of clothes on it, ready to go swimming. He then sat down on the edge of the pool, dangling his feet into the water. He sighed again, slipping into the water.
It was nice to be in the cool water, rather than out in the hot sun. He pushed himself into the water, getting his whole body wet. He then came back up, leaning against the pool wall. This was the life.

Brianna's head once again bobbed up from the water. She pushed away the hair off from her face when she saw a boy sitting at the edge. She jumped and waved at him, hoping it was someone she knew.
"Hey there!" she called out, smiling at the boy.

Charlie looked over at the girl who was waving at him. He knew her from around the city. Brianna, her name was. She had come into the garage a couple of times when he was working.
Charlie swam slowly over to her, then leaned against the wall near her. "Brianna, right?" he asked, looking at her. She was pretty. Very pretty.

Brianna smiled and nodded as she swam over to the boy. She had seen him around, talked to him once or twice, but he wasn't much of a friend since they didn't know each other that much. They were from different grades, that much she knew. He was younger than she was, maybe a year or two.
"Hey Charlie!" If there was one thing about tis queer meeting, it was that she knew his name at least. "What are you doing around the pool this time of day?" Most days, she was alone in the pool and the last time she saw the boy, he was with his older sister. Seemingly every time she looks at him, he was with his older sister.

"I was hot and needed something to cool me down. That, and my sister is flirting with some guy. Um, Cole something. I didn't really want to ruin her chance at actually getting a boyfriend," Charlie replied, shrugging lightly.
"I guess I could say the same to you, but I'm guessing you had the same idea as me?" Charlie asked, looking at Brianna. He saw her in the water a lot when he came here with Jessica. She really liked swimming, like him.

Brianna smiled at the boy. She looked at him and thingyed her head. "How 'bout you jump in for a swim then?" she suggested. The cool water took her head away from all her thoughts, it was the most calming thing she could ever feel for the day.
Brianna nodded. "Yeah, pretty much. You and I seem to have the same idea," she said, splashing a bit of water a Charlie rather playfully. "Come on in, Charlie!"

"Hey, no need to splash!" Charlie said, laughing and splashing her back lightly. He slid down the wall into the water, sighing. "That's very nice, you know."
"So, how long have you been in this water then? It's pretty empty today," Charlie noted, looking around the pool. There were only a few people walking around the pool and even less in it.

Brianna chuckled a bit. "Come one, there's no fun in the pool when there's no splashing. That's what my younger sister and I believe," she said as she continued to splash Charlie some water. "You're in the same batch, you know, you and Bea."
Brianna looked around and nodded. "Yeah...people think they have a lot of better stuff to do...my sister for instance. She'd rather be out there playing sports!"

"Nice to know that," Charlie said, grinning as he splashed her a lot. "My sister doesn't really like me splashing her. So I thought all girls are the same."
"She's out playing sports in this weather? It's way too hot to be playing sports out there. My sister, she's out there flirting with someone. Hoepfully he'll ask her out. She needs someone," Charlie said, meaning it. He wanted his sister to be happy.
