"Of course it's ok. I like spending time with you, why would I not let you come back?" Jessica said, giving him a soft smile. "I'll still be here, and maybe I'll even finish this car today with your help." Jessica meant it.
She could normally finish a car like this in two days, but with an extra pair of hands, she could eaisly finish it quicker, even if he didn't know too much about fixing cars.

Cole flashed a smile at Jessica and gave her a little wave. "I'll catch you later," he said, though he couldn't pry her eyes off her even as he waved goodbye. he knew he'd see her in a while though, but was that enough? Cole winked at Jessica. "I meant what I said...every word," he said sincerely before going off.
Terrence had been watching from the house. He watched as the young teenager jogged off home. he went back to check on Jessica to see how it turned out.
"Hey Jess," he said softly as he walked back into the garage where he had left Jessica and Cole to figure out what was really happening between them

Jessica smiled as she watched him run off. She then sighed and went back to her work, still holding the smile on her face. She heard Terrence talk behind her and put her wrench down, turning to him. She smiled brightly, hugging him tightly.
"You were right. He did see me. He likes me too, he told me. I made him promise me that he liked me. And told him I would never, ever forgive him if he broke my trust. Thank you for being there for me earlier. I don't thank you enough!" Jessica said all in a rush, still hugging him.

Terrence smiled as he gave her a hug back. 'I'm glad you're happy, jess," he said gently. "You deserve it, after all these years." He stroked his hair. "Just remember to be careful, and to keep some things for yourself..." he knew what it was like with teenage love, and there was no way he would let Jessica just hurt like that.
"So, what do you say we give Charlie a call and we have dinner. I bet Randy's going to be home soon," said Terrence.

"I will be careful, don't worry. I'm not going to let him hurt me, and if he does, I'll hurt him back twice as hard," Jessica said, letting go of him and pulling out her phone. "He'll not hurt me if he likes me as he says he does. He won't."
Jessica typed in Charlie's number and held it to her ear, listening to it ring. "Hello Charlie? It's me. Jessica. Where are you? On your way to the arcade? No, I'm at the garage. Yes, now. Ok, see you in a bit." Jessica finished the call. "He's on his way."

Terrence smiled and nodded. "All right. I'll see the both of you at the dinner table." He glanced at the car. "Did the Ryder boy work on that?" he asked, spotting one of the bolts lose. Knowing Jessica, the girl wouldn't miss a beat when it comes to fixing the cars.
"He ain't much of a mechanic, is he..."

"Ok. He shouldn't be long. He was just down the road, apparently," Jessica said, looking down the road then at the car. She saw the loose bolt and quickly tightened it up, making a mental note to make sure Cole learned quickly because she was going to have to do twice as much work otherwise. "Yes, he did. I'm teaching him."
Charlie walked into the garage, running a hand through his wet hair. He was mumbling stuff under his breath and walked straight into Terrence. "Oh, sorry. Wasn't concentrating. I talked to this girl and she won't talk to me anymore because I'm friends with you lot. So stupid!"

Terrence smiled at Jessica. "I'm glad you've found a friend, Jessica. I hope your friendship with this boy doesn't hurt you in turn." He nodded with a smile at the girl, happy that there was something for her to look forward to aside from a blank tomorrow.
When Charlie came, it was another story. "What's up with you, little man?" Terrence asked. Now it was the other having a problem.

"So do I. I really like him," Jessica said, then watched Charlie muttering to himself. "What girl is this?" Charlie looked over at Jessica then at Terrence.
"Brianna. She won't talk to me anymore. She won't come anywhere within a metre of me. All beacuse her Dad works for that stupid man. And because I'm friends with the Kings. She's so stupid. I can't wait till I'm older and I can sort out this city!" Charlie muttered angrily.

Terrence looked at Charlie. Stupid? It was the first time he heard Charlie having a foul mouth, which meant that something upsetted the boy pretty badly. He couldn't blame him though. The family history was quite a rocky one, a dark one. Many people had been trying to break the chain but all of them failed since the Kings and the Glares had never yet gotten along.
"Which Brianna is this then?" asked Terrence, as calmly as he could.
