Cole smiled back. "Perfect," he said as he patted the side of his pants where his pocket was. "I have a ten dollar bill left. Want to turn them into quarters and play some games? Why not enjoy along with Charlie while you're already here, right?" he said.
Cole prayed silently that the girl would say yes. She had to say yes...she just had to. He would give up a week of coming to Edge if she would say yes today. He silently promised that he would do the dishes without complaint too if only Jessica would say yes.

"Uh.." Jessica said, rubbing her head. Maybe she could play some games. She did have fun on the last one, and plus, being happy will make it even more enjoyable. Add in Cole, and it would probably be the happiest she's ever been.
"Sure, we can play some more games. But are you sure you don't want me to pay? I have some money," Jessica said, looking at Cole and tilting her head to the side. "I don't want to spend all your money."

Oh, of course Cole didn't mind...it was hard earned pocket money after all and seeing Jessica's smile was all worth it. "Nah, don't worry about that. I've got it covered," assured Cole. But deep in his mind, he didn't really know where to get his next lunch money, but hah! Who really cares about that now.
"So what did you want to try out?" he asked Jessica as he looked around, scanning for a fun game like the first one. She didn't really know Jessica's taste in games.

"If you're sure," Jessica murmured, fiddling with the end of her hair again. She really had to learn to stop doing that. But still, it did calm her down, so it was ok, she supposed.
"Anything at all. I don't have any preferences. Actually, the only preference I have is if you play too. It's only fair," Jessica said, smiling at him. She know knew she was slightly hyper.

Cole chuckled. "You think I would pass up the chance?" he asked, which was more of a rhetorical question than it was a question for Jessica. Cole thought for a moment. "How about that?" he asked, pointing to the air hockey table.
Yes, it was something he played with the girls he hung out with and they all had fun with it. Jessica couldn't be possibly too different from them as to not enjoy the classic arcade game.

Jessica looked at what he was pointing at. Ah. Air Hockey. Now this was something she had heard Charlie talking about. It seemed simple enough to play, according to Charlie. But he did make everything seem simple.
"Ok. Sure, I will have a go. Air Hockey, right? Charlie's mentioned it to me a few times. I think I will probably get the hang of this game," Jessica said, walking over to the table. "But, you couldn't possibly show me what I'm supposed to do, could you?"

Cole walked Jessica to the air hockey table. "Ever watched hockey?" he asked. Cole wasn't much of a hockey fan, more of basketball, but he watches the games on TV every once in a while since his younger brother loved th game. "Just hit the puck with those things over there," he said as he pointed to the two white circles that were used to hit the puck.
"Wait a sec, I have to change this into quarters," said Cole as he waved a five dollar bill. He went over to the counter then came back with a handful of quarters. "Come on then," he said with a wide smile. 'Let's play!"

"Um, no. I don't really, watch TV. Charlie does. I tend to read, or write, or draw, rather than watch TV," Jessica admitted, watching him walk off to changed the five dollar bill.
"Ok, let's play," Jessica greed, taking hold of one of white circles. She stood at the opposite end to Cole and gave him a nervous smile. "So, I just, hit it?"

Cole was about to comment about how TV was something that everybody should enjoy, but decided not to. leave Jessica to always stand out, and that's what's he is starting to like about her...aside from the fact that she looks cute...especially when she fiddles with her hair when she's nervous.
Cole nodded. He inserted some quarters into the slot. The puck came out on his side. he tossed it onto the table and hit it, very slightly at first. He wanted Jessica to start out comfortable with the game before it gets a bit hot in the middle.
"You're turn!" he said. "Yup, just give it a good whacking on the side!"

Jessica watched Cole hit it lightly towards her. Ok, so it seemed simple enough. Just hit the puck back to him. Just hit it lightly though. Not too lightly though. Just hit it enough.
"Ok, just hit it," Jessica said, nodding. She waited till it got over to her and it hit it back a little too hard, making it jump off of the table. "Oh dear! I am so sorry!" Jessica exclaimed, putting a hand over her mouth.
